Calgary, ALBERTA -- Ideas and insights on the emerging new world of livestock feed innovation will take the spotlight in mid-March as Canadian Bio-Systems Inc. (CBS Inc.) hosts its inaugural CBS Asian Nutrition Summit -- a special swine and poultry forum linked to the major VIV Asia 2017 feed technology conference.
“The evolution of science-driven feed technology innovation is advancing at a rapid pace, opening many new opportunities for swine and poultry production globally,” says Krisjan Jones, CBS Inc. operations director and co-lead of the Summit. “The CBS Asian Nutrition Summit will offer unique insider perspectives on several of the key developments relevant to each species that are breaking new ground.”
This will include insights on how to capture key advantages that boost profitability and align with the latest consumer and market-driven food industry trends, such as the shift toward bio-based approaches and away from use of antimicrobials for production purposes, says Rob Patterson, CBS Inc. Technical Director. “The knowledge and technology, along with specific nutrition strategies and tools, are all progressing. It’s a great time to take stock of the options available.”
Particularly relevant to the Asia Pacific, the summit will also feature North American insights that can help drive progress in Asia, including through approaches that can help maximize feed value from the variety of ingredients and diets used in the region, says Dr. Eduardo Tuason, CBS Inc. Asia Pacific Sales Manager.
The Summit features top speakers from the frontline of global feed technology advances, led by veteran industry nutritionist Victor Pouteaux, currently the Director of Nutritional Services for Canada-based Friesen Nutrition, who will discuss finding and incorporating new nutrition innovations and technologies into feed programs for swine.
Meghan Schwartz, Director of Research and Technical Services for U.S.-based Schwartz Consulting Services Inc., will discuss fresh opportunities for championing feed technology innovation in poultry production.
The Summit will also feature the official launch of “iNSPect” – a first-of-its-kind next generation feed analysis application -- led by Jones, Patterson and Tuason.
“We are looking forward to an energizing and engaging session with our expanding base of partners, customers and colleagues active in the region,” says Tuason. “This will complement their participation in what promises to be an outstanding VIV Asia 2017 conference showcasing the latest advances across the spectrum of feed to food.”
